People often ask what they can do to support the programs and services provided by Eggleston Services. Because we are a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, donors who itemize deductions on their tax return may take a tax deduction for all cash and non-cash contributions to our agency.
One of the most popular types of cash donations is scholarships for campers at Camp Civitan. Many of our campers cannot afford to pay for a week of camp, so we welcome contributions by people in the community to help support the program.
The Eggleston Foundation was established in collaboration with United Way as a means for accepting in-kind gifts. Whether it is an outright gift, a gift via your will, a charitable remainder trust, or a beneficiary designation on life insurance or retirement accounts, Eggleston Services will use your contributions to help people with disabilities in your community.
Thousands of people have learned about our vehicle donation program. It allows you to donate an unwanted vehicle with no towing costs, take a tax deduction, and make a gift to the community in support of our many programs and services. As a result of the success of the vehicle donation program, we have opened our Eggleston Automotive Center (E.A.C.) at 7433 Sewells Point Road in Norfolk where we recondition donated vehicles and auction them to the public. Auctions are held every other Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m.
