Earth Day Shred Event

When: April 26, 2025 from 10am – 2pm

Where: 3525 N. Military Highway, Norfolk, VA 23518

Details: Join Eggleston for our Earth Day shred event and get a quality service while helping improve the lives of adults with disabilities in Hampton Roads. Ideal for: Spring Cleaning, Recycling Old papers, End of Tax Season.

– Fill up to a 64 gallon container for the flat fee of $45 (approximately 10 boxes).
– If you have 20+ boxes please call 757-962-2189 in advance to schedule a drop off time.
– Visit our pop market and get some plants and produce from Eggleston’s Garden Center and Farmers Market!

2nd Annual HEADSTRONG Helmet Design Challenge

When: Helmets due by Monday June 9, 2025

Where: 1161 Ingleside Road, Norfolk, VA 23502

Details: Enter a helmet to raise awareness for brain injury! The helmets will be judged and awards will be giving out for the following categories: Most Creative, Most Unique, Most Humorous, Most Impactful, and Best Overall. Visits the events page for full list of contest rules and information.

If you don’t want to create a helmet but still want to support this event we are collecting used or new protective headgear for those who want to participate. Items include bicycle, sports, motorcycle helmets, hard hats, and decorative items. Donations due by May 1, 2025.

16th Annual OK5K and 1-Mile Run, Walk, Roll

When: June 14, 2025

7:00 AM – Doors Open for Registration
8:00AM – 1 Mile Run/Walk
8:45AM – 5K Run/Walk
10:00AM – Post Race Celebration

Where: Virginia Wesleyan University

Details: Join us for a race through the beautiful campus of Virginia Wesleyan University, and have the opportunity to make a difference in our community! The OK5K & 1 Mile Run, Walk & Roll is open to participants of all ability levels and mobilities. The course is completely paved and ideal for families with strollers, wheelchair racers, and more.
